The debate on Danish border crossing and its re-enstitution currently dominate the Danish discourse. The border decision is mainly political one taken by the current center right government. Danish liberal party and the conservative people’s party ruled the country for the past 10 years. The two governing parties often legislated with the Danish people’s party. The border crossing decision created tension within the EU establishment as the free movement of people and goods in Europe constitute one of the main cornerstones in post world war peace building projects in the continent. This articles assess the consequences of the policy and the implications for the ethnic minorities in Denmark.
