1. Principal objectives: Integration
In Denmark, like other western countries, it is the modern, post-industrial, differentiated, and information oriented type of society that is dominant. Therefore, the need for information, analysis and understanding on the part of the individual and the group is apparently greater in this increasingly complex society with ever advancing social and technological transformations. In extension and in parallel to this, complicated systems, processes, and institutions, designed to regulate individual and group behaviour emerged in recent years.
Based on these facts, DMEG tries to create an effective integration program for immigrants
and refugees.
DMEG is an independent institution with emphasis on the integration process in Denmark.
We concentrate and deal with all questions related to the integration of immigrants. At the same
time the institution remains neutral in issues of political, religious and divisive
characters.
In our opinion, there is a need of:
- Mutual understanding, dialogue and communication between authorities and
refugee- immigrant groups, individuals and associations.
- Taking preventive measures, demystifying, eliminating of among other things social
and cultural misunderstandings.
- Strengthening of integration efforts through practical initiatives in close contacts and
coordination with all interested and relevant actors.
- Reliable and effective approach in satisfying information and analysis needs.
- Data collection on integration areas through concrete activities.
- Publication of leaflets, working papers, reports, and evaluations.
To meet these demands DMEG offers:
- Professionalism, competence, and diversity ( look DMEG profile)
- Multidimensional approach to the integration process.
- Experience based knowledge on the demands and wishes on both on
the part of the Danish and minority groups.
- Loyalty towards the Danish society to the universal human values.
- Exchange of ideas, engagement and inspiration in regard to complex situations.
2. Focus areas:
DMEG advocates for the implementation of the integration, so that the latest arrivals of immigrants
and refugees could be integrated in equal bases.
DMEG’s objectives are:
- To evaluate, analyse and develop new methods together with approaches that
improve the overall integration effort in Denmark. Various tasks related to the
following focus areas are particularly emphasised.
- Employment opportunities
- Cultural understanding and values
- Education/ teaching
- Social service including the youth and the retirees
- Other relevant input in the integration process
For the benefit of the local community.
To contribute to the public debate with respect to the construction of intercultural relations
Although DMEG attributes greater attention to Denmark, the institution also addresses
issues with international relevance and concern.
3. Working methodology
DMEG’s work rests on the following difference but interrelated processes:
Different activities that lead to:
Obtaining new methodologies and knowledge production that in return advance to:
Documentation, publication and evaluation of the acquired knowledge and methodology.
I. Activities

in particularly introducing the following scheme:

II. Obtaining new methodology and approaches: Knowledge collection

constitute the bases for future conducts.
III. Publication and documentation of the attained methods
The outcome of any activity will be published and shared with interested components.
More importantly DMEG undertakes the following;
- Collecting data from relevant organisations and institutions
- Gathering knowledge and research conclusions available at different areas.

and individuals.
DMEG’s research, network, data base, and contacts are applied to detect signals, patterns, and tendencies in the area. Furthermore DMEG aims at contributing to this process through reporting
